Treatment of Small Cell Lung Cancer

Introduction

There are two main types of lung cancer, nonsmall cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer.

It is important that all patients with lung cancer know what type of cancer they have because the treatments
for each type of cancer are different, and effective treatment for one type may not be effective for a
different type of cancer.

In this chapter, treatment of small cell lung cancer will be discussed. See Chapter 4, Radiation Therapy for
