Fundraiser Spotlight: The Gamper Family

The Gamper Family has been a vocal advocate and fundraiser for the LUNGevity Foundation since 2014. They lost Maria Rixey Gamper in March of 2016 and now carry on their efforts in her memory. Dick, her husband, carries her torch. Catherine, Richard, Charles, Stuart, Laura, Alice, McKee, Charlie and Jay round out her immediate family and represent two rising generations striving to make an impact in the fight against lung cancer.

 

How did you first get involved with LUNGevity as a fundraiser?

Fundraiser Spotlight: Stephanie Holder

Stephanie Holder is a LUNGevity endurance event fundraiser currently living in Chicago, IL. Her sister, Renee, was diagnosed with stage IIIB non small cell lung cancer in September of 2016 and passed away a short two months after at the age of 31. Stephanie participates in endurance fundraising events for Team LUNGevity as a way to honor her sister’s memory and make a positive impact on her own life and the lives of those who have been affected by lung cancer.

Fundraiser Spotlight: Natalie Cohen Smith

Natalie Cohen Smith lives in Bethesda, Maryland. This year, she is serving as Gala Chair of the LUNGevity Musical Celebration of Hope in Washington, D.C. on April 25, 2019. Her late husband, Joey Smith, was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in his early 20s and passed away in 2016 at the age of 33. She serves as Gala Chair as a heartfelt, meaningful way for her to pay tribute to Joey.
