HOPE Summit is amazing and inspiring! Everything that LUNGevity does is to lift us up and inspire us as survivors. They do their jobs so well.

-Jessica Steinberg, stage IV ALK

At HOPE Summits, participants learn, collaborate, advocate, and use their voices and stories to make a difference in the fight against lung cancer. The summits feature inspirational speakers, medical expert forums, lung cancer survivor-specific sessions, and opportunities for lung cancer survivors to connect with other survivors and share their stories with the public and the media. There are sessions for survivors in active treatment and others for those out of treatment to address their specific needs.

HOPE Summits are free to attend; however, for the National HOPE Summit, held in Washington, DC, there is a registration fee of $50, which includes 2½ days of sessions, materials, and meals.

Join the Survivor Challenge: raise $1,500 or more for LUNGevity Foundation (or $2,000 for a survivor and one caregiver), and you’ll be eligible for round-trip US transportation and hotel for the next National HOPE Summit in Washington, DC.

If you are a first-time survivor participant, you may qualify for a full or partial travel grant. Full travel grant awards cover round-trip airfare within the United States and two nights of hotel accommodations at or near the Keybridge Marriott. Travel grant recipients who wish to attend the Advocate Only meeting before the HOPE Summit begins will need to cover the cost of an additional night of hotel.

Experts at HOPE Summit

The Summit provides expert-led sessions to educate and inform about the latest in research and treatment options. Researchers speak about the hope in research and exciting current research developments. Participating experts also volunteer for a Q & A session so that Summit participants can interact directly with the experts.

The Summit is a one-of-a-kind conference celebrating lung cancer survivorship. It's a unique opportunity for people who have been impacted by a lung cancer diagnosis to meet and interact with each other. Participants who have been to a Summit report feeling a sense of community and have built lasting friendships.

Peer-to-Peer Sessions

Peer-to-peer sessions

The Summit also holds peer-to-peer sessions where attendees can hear directly from other lung cancer survivors who have walked the journey. They have a first-hand view of what it has been like to live, survive, and thrive after a lung cancer diagnosis.
