Lynne Doughtie is retired U.S. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of KPMG, one of the world’s leading professional services firms. She served as a member of KPMG’s Global Board and Executive Committee, as well as Vice Chair of KPMG’s Advisory business (2011–2015), establishing it as the firm’s fastest-growing segment. In addition, she oversaw the expansion of KPMG’s capabilities in innovative services and solutions, including information security, strategy, digital/mobile, and transformation.

Doughtie began her career in 1985 in KPMG’s Audit practice and served in a number of national, regional, and global leadership roles, including as lead partner for several of the firm’s major clients. In recognition of her professional accomplishments, Doughtie has received numerous accolades, including Fortune’s Most Powerful Women, Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People, the National Association of Corporate Directors’ “100 Most Influential People in the Boardroom,” and Glassdoor’s list of Top CEOs.

Since retiring from KPMG, Doughtie has joined the Boards of Directors of The Boeing Company, McKesson, and Workday. She also lends her time and expertise to several civic and charitable organizations, including chairing the Board of the LUNGevity Foundation and serving on the Virginia Tech Alumni Association Board and the Pamplin College of Business Advisory Board.

In this role, he oversees the development and execution of IBM’s corporate strategy, leads strategic transactions, supports innovation through venture investments, and shapes the company’s long-term vision and financial narrative to the investment community. Since joining IBM in January 2023, Alex has played an integral role in advancing IBM’s portfolio evolution, accelerating growth across its businesses, and aligning strategic priorities that support the company’s long-term vision and position in the market.

Prior to IBM, Alex served as President of Lazard, where he held several senior roles, including CEO of Lazard’s Financial Advisory business, Chief Operating Officer, and Global Head of Strategy. Over nearly three decades at Lazard, Alex spearheaded many of the firm’s key strategic and operational initiatives, including expanding the company's service offerings, enhancing collaboration and productivity across the firm’s workforce, and strengthening relationships with investment banking clients. He also helped lead the successful integration of Lazard as it transitioned from a private partnership to a public company. Throughout his tenure, Alex advised Lazard clients on a broad array of transformational growth transactions and value creation initiatives, with a particular emphasis in the technology and telecommunications sectors. He joined Lazard in 1994 and was named Managing Director in 2002.

Alex also previously held positions with Patricof & Co. Ventures and IBM. He serves on the boards of LUNGevity Foundation and Operation Warm and is a member of the Board of Advisors for the School of Engineering and Applied Science of the University of Pennsylvania.

He holds a B.S. from Duke University, an M.S.E. from the School of Engineering and Applied Science of the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

He has held a wide range of senior management roles while at Lazard including Global Co-Head of Healthcare Investment Banking and Director of Lazard Canada, Ltd., and he co-founded Lazard’s biotechnology and later its healthcare services practices. Jason is CEO of Lazard Freres & Co. LLC, the firm's FINRA regulated broker-dealer, a member of the firm’s Financial Advisory Management Committee, and the Global Executive Committee, among others.
 
Since joining Lazard in 1997, Jason has been involved in many of the firm’s most complex healthcare advisory assignments. He brings a unique perspective to Lazard’s advisory practice, having spent the majority of his career working with a broad range of healthcare clients. His transaction experience includes domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, restructurings, and capital raises, as well as contested situations. Selected transactions include the sale of Athenahealth to Veritas Capital, Aetna in its merger with CVS and Humana (terminated), Ariad in its sale to Takeda, Mylan’s Stichting during the hostile approach from Teva, Labcorp in its acquisition of Covance, Endo in its acquisition of Auxilium, Tenet Healthcare’s acquisition of Vanguard and USPI, Medco in its merger with Express Scripts, Omnicare in its hostile takeover of NeighborCare, Pfizer in its hostile takeover of Warner-Lambert and Pharmacia, and Hoechst in its merger with Rhône-Poulenc, among others. He has also served as a Trustee of one of New York-Presbyterian’s largest affiliates, The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
 
Jason began his career in investment banking in 1988 in Merrill Lynch’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group working in New York, London and Hong Kong. He has a BA cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Terri Ann is on the LUNGevity Early Lung Cancer Center’s External Advisory Board and spoke at its initial meeting. She actively promotes early detection through her speaking events and media platforms and shares how her experiences have profoundly changed her perspective and gratitude for every day.

Andrea came to LUNGevity through the merger with Protect Your Lungs, an organization she and her family started to fund lung cancer research following her mother’s death from lung cancer in 2008.

Before the merger, Andrea founded and built Protect Your Lungs, an organization dedicated to funding research into the early detection of lung cancer. Andrea was instrumental in building PYL’s Scientific Advisory Board and establishing its funding process, both of which followed her to the new LUNGevity organization.

In her for-profit career, Andrea has a wealth of management experience. Andrea was the Vice President of Strategy and Growth of Decision Lens, Inc. a company she helped launch in January 2005. Prior to joining Decision Lens, Andrea held a variety of management positions at Johnson & Johnson, including Director of Investor Relations, Manager Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions, and Plant Controller. She also spent several years at McNeil Consumer Products, a J&J subsidiary, in marketing and mergers & acquisitions. Prior to her time at J&J, Andrea worked for Lehman Brothers and Coopers & Lybrand in New York City in both Mergers and Acquisitions and as a CPA.

Andrea received her BS in Economics from Wharton with concentrations in Accounting, Decision Sciences, and Finance. She received her MBA from Wharton with concentrations in Finance and Latin American Studies. She served on Washington, DC’s Kennedy Center National Committee of Performing Arts and on the Board of ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) of Metro DC. She has also served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for DC Metro Boys and Girls Club and has worked with the Ronald McDonald House and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

He graduated from University of Louisville Medical College in 1984, then completed his Family Medicine Residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky in 1987.  

He left his Family Medicine practice in 2022 to dedicate his time to raising lung cancer and lung cancer screening awareness, related policy, advocacy, and research.  As the Director of Lung Cancer Screening, he has worked with his team, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare to build one of the most successful lung cancer screening programs in the country.

He is a fierce advocate for all those at risk for and with lung cancer, helping to change the narrative and instill hope. Additional work includes national and international presentations, smoke-free policy and legislation, research promotion and participation, and firefighter cancer screening.

His interests include gardening, oil painting, kayaking, hiking, backpacking and travel, and well as spending time with his family, including his wife of more than 36 years, his daughters, and three grandchildren.

 

William “BJ” Jones is the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at NewAmsterdam Pharma. As NewAmsterdam’s first CCO, he will build and lead all commercial functions, including marketing, market access, sales, medical affairs, and commercial operations.  BJ brings 30 years of commercial and launch experience in the US and globally, with particular experience in driving mass-market product launch strategies for industry-leading brands. He was previously CCO, Migraine and Common Disease, at Biohaven Pharmaceuticals, and held leadership roles of increasing responsibility at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Boehringer Ingelheim, and NitroMed. He has successfully built and led diverse commercial teams committed to addressing unmet patient needs across various therapeutic areas, including neuroscience, cardio-metabolic, respiratory, GI, and infectious disease.

Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, BJ served in the US Air Force and earned the rank of Major. He provided threat assessments to NATO leadership as an engineering analyst in the Foreign Technology division and led cutting-edge research in the Artificial Intelligence in Training program as a function chief in the AF Human Systems Division.

He holds a BS in Human Factors Engineering from the US Air Force Academy, an MS in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

 

In particular, Jennifer assists companies in developing comprehensive global and domestic privacy and data security programs, guiding companies in navigating the myriad state, federal, and international privacy regulations. Jennifer also devotes a significant portion of her practice to incident response and preparation, having advised numerous companies on the implementation of an incident response program and coaching companies through evaluating and responding to a threatened or actual security incident. Further, Jennifer routinely advises clients on privacy and data security matters in the context of corporate transactions, working with clients to identify potential risks in an acquisition, whether buy or sell side.

Michael Marquis is a seasoned CEO and private equity operating executive with more than 30 years of experience scaling consumer, personal care, and health & wellness businesses across global multinationals and PE-backed portfolios. He has transformed emerging and under-optimized brands into category leaders by driving top-line growth, expanding EBITDA, and building high-performance organizations rooted in strong culture and disciplined execution. His core expertise spans portfolio value creation, retail and omni-channel acceleration, global expansion, and end-to-end P&L leadership.

Michael currently serves as Executive Managing Director at WM Partners, a health and wellness–focused private equity firm with $1.2B AUM, where he works as part of the Leadership Team and Investment Committee to oversee operations across a portfolio of seven consumer brands. In this role, he partners closely with CEOs and management teams from diligence through execution—strengthening leadership benches, professionalizing processes, and aligning strategy, budgets, and operating cadence to deliver profitable growth and exit-ready performance.

In parallel, Michael is CEO of Raw Sugar Living, a national clean personal-care brand. Since assuming leadership following its acquisition by WM Partners, he has delivered revenue growth, expanded distribution across mass, club, e-commerce, and international markets, and driven significant gross margin improvement through supply-chain optimization and quality transformation. He is known for scaling brands without losing their entrepreneurial soul, evidenced by sustained high employee engagement during periods of rapid change.

Previously, Michael was Global President of Vogue International at Johnson & Johnson, where he led the $3.3B acquisition and integration of the company and scaled OGX®, Maui Moisture®, and related brands into global icons. Under his leadership, the business achieved +12% CAGR growth in a low-growth category, doubled international sales, and expanded operating margins, ultimately delivering significant shareholder value while retaining top talent throughout integration. Earlier roles at Johnson & Johnson included President of U.S. Consumer Health, where he managed a $1.3B portfolio of leading brands including Listerine®, Band-Aid®, and Neosporin®, successfully returning the business to sustainable growth.

A former three-time USRowing All-American, Michael leads with the discipline of an athlete and the heart of a coach. He holds a BSBA in Accounting from Bucknell University. Outside of work, he enjoys early-morning rowing, cycling, and—most importantly—being a #GirlDad to two daughters who he loves to join as they travel, cook and attend concerts.

Barry is a committee member of the Partners in Clinical Research Conference and the Patient Advisory Council at Kyruus Health, and he co-creates projects for Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Initiatives (PCORI). He volunteers with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a community ambassador and on a community level in Boston to educate black men about lung cancer. Barry received a BS in business administration from Eastern Nazarene College.

He has stewarded the company’s rise to the worldwide leading provider of innovative venue services and live experiences. Bob has a personal family connection to cancer that motivates his advocacy and philanthropy. He received his BS in marketing from the University of Connecticut and an MS in sport management from the University of Massachusetts.

In the past, Andre served as a member of the Counseling and Regulatory Policy Group of the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of General Counsel, where he provided advice and recommendations on various proposals presented for Commission action. He also advised on legal and policy issues as Counsel to former SEC Commissioner Steven M. H. Wallman.

Andre graduated from Providence College with a bachelor’s degree and holds a JD degree from Harvard Law School.

He spent 17 years within the Ogilvy Healthcare organization, where he worked across all aspects of the oncology marketplace, creating long-standing partnerships with many biopharma companies and academic centers on the cutting edge of cancer research. He is a critical thinker, problem solver, and someone who thrives in new emerging approaches to solving the world’s biggest healthcare challenges.

Named to the PharmaVOICE 100 Most Inspiring Healthcare Leaders in 2016 for his leadership and innovation in cancer and rare diseases, Michael is a recognized leader and cancer advocate. He currently serves as the President of the Board of Trustees of CancerCare, a partner of LUNGevity. Additionally, since 2012 he has served on the board of the NCCN Foundation, an organization that represents 28 of the world’s leading cancer centers.

Michael holds a BA degree in psychology, which is where he became a hospice counselor, focused specifically on dealing with people suffering the end stage of a cancer diagnosis. He also holds an MBA in corporate finance.

In the war against lung cancer, Dr. Rudin is staging a strategic multi-pronged attack on the disease. A world-renowned researcher, Dr. Rudin conducts basic science research, develops cutting edge translational therapeutics, and treats lung cancer patients.

As Cancer Center Director, Dr. Rudin serves as Principal Investigator of Memorial Sloan Kettering's Cancer Center Support Grant—which provides funding for scientific infrastructure, leadership, and shared resources—and is responsible for coordinating efforts to maintain Memorial Sloan Kettering’s NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center status. 

Already his laboratory has run numerous clinical trials looking at novel therapeutics in lung cancer patients. One of his exciting findings is a virus that targets small cell lung cancer. This groundbreaking work has prompted a national clinical trial to consider the possibility of using this virus to help specifically target and kill lung cancer cells. The blood and tumor samples from this trial are returning to Dr. Rudin’s laboratory so that his team can study the effects of the virus on lung cancer and conduct correlative analyses.

In this way, Dr. Rudin’s lab is creating real-time, parallel developments in the laboratory and the clinic that may be the foundation for major breakthroughs in lung cancer care.

While Dr. Rudin is working to develop therapeutics in the laboratory, he also treats patients on a regular basis. Dr. Rudin, a member of LUNGevity’s Scientific Advisory Board, knows that by the time lung cancer is detected, it’s usually too late. “To really have an impact, early detection is going to be essential,” says Dr. Rudin. “A recent national lung cancer screening trial showed that early detection is possible and it can have an impact on mortality rates, but it’s not enough…We need better, cheaper early detection techniques that can be used to screen all people.”

The development of detection techniques and therapeutics costs money. Sadly, there is a huge disparity between lung cancer research funding and research funding for other cancers, such as breast and prostate cancer, says Dr. Rudin. But that is where organizations like LUNGevity make a large impact. “Funding from LUNGevity really complements the federal funding system and helps to improve outcomes for lung cancer patients.”

Dr. Rudin’s complex, multi-pronged attack on lung cancer is based on a very simple idea – saving lives. “Every week I see patients with this disease. Every week patients suffer relapses. I have watched too many lung cancer patients die. I am trying to change the outcome for patients with this disease.”

Frank attends the annual LUNGevity Scientific and Clinical Roundtable to represent the patient voice.  Frank actively advocates for LUNGevity and the ALK+ lung cancer community and calls on industry, regulators, and fellow patients to challenge the status quo and explore what’s possible.  He received a BSBA in Accounting from Creighton University and an MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Andy is the Co-CEO of Aurify Kingstar, an innovative New York City-based hospitality company that creates, grows, and operates networks of category-leading fast casual and franchised restaurants. Prior to co-founding Aurify Brands, Andy was a Managing Director and Entrepreneur-In-Residence of Idealab! New York; Founder of VenCatalyst, Inc., the East Coast region’s first for-profit idea accelerator; and Founder of  Logex International LLC, one of the East Coast region’s first pure-play electronic commerce solutions providers. Andy currently serves on the Board of Directors for Greenwich Youth Lacrosse. Andy graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Political Science.

Paul is determined to find an early detection strategy to find all lung cancers while they are still local and treatable to prevent lung-cancer related death. Paul is proud to now serve on LUNGevity’s Board of Directors.

Paul has been a leader in the business and non-profit community for more than four decades. He is the former Presiding Director of Dow Chemical Company and a former Director of Whirlpool Corporation.

Paul's not-for-profit activities include: Chairman, Washington National Symphony Orchestra; Board of Directors, Business Executives for National Security; Member of the Council on Foreign Relations; and member of the Potomac Officers Club; and Board member of the SEI Institute at the Wharton School of Business.

Paul lives in Bethesda, MD, near three of his nine grandchildren.

Leading by example, Winn is nationally recognized for his community engagement efforts in promoting new approaches to building trust among populations previously disenfranchised from healthcare or excluded or abused in research. Winn is also the namesake of the Robert A. Winn Diversity in Clinical Trials Award Program, a $114 million training and education program in partnership with the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation.

Winn is committed to both community-engaged research and research focused on eliminating health disparities. He is principal investigator on several large multi-institutional initiatives, including a team science award from Stand Up To Cancer, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-funded Planning SPORE focused on Lung Cancer Health Equity and an NCI-funded institutional partnership award fostering cancer disparities research and career development collaboration between Massey and Virginia State University, a Historically Black University located in Petersburg, VA - a city that has faced health and education inequities for generations. Winn also manages his own basic and translational research laboratory which has been supported by multiple NIH and Veterans Affairs Merit awards for nearly two decades. Winn’s laboratory focuses on the molecular mechanisms and novel therapeutic approaches for lung cancer and the confluence between societal and biological factors which may lead to disparities.

The recipient of numerous awards and honors, Winn has received the National Cancer Institute Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities CURE Program Lifetime Achievement Award; the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)-Minorities in Cancer Research Jane Cooke Wright Lectureship; the inaugural AACI Cancer Health Equity Award; and the Prevent Cancer Foundation Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Laurel Award for Increasing Health Equity. He is also a Fellow of the AACR Academy. Winn serves the President of the Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI); Chair of the National Cancer Policy Forum of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine; and a member of the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society and LUNGevity Foundation.
