For more than two decades, LUNGevity Foundation has been a leader in advancing lung cancer research. Since 2002, we have invested  $55+ million in more than 200 research projects, helping to build a robust pipeline of discoveries in early detection, treatment innovation, and health equity.

Once again, LUNGevity is ready to open our annual grant cycle in 2026 with six research programs designed to address the most pressing challenges in lung cancer care. In addition, these grants ensure the next generation of researchers is poised to continue making progress for everyone affected by this disease.

We are now accepting applications for the following research grants:

  • RTFCCR-LUNGevity Resistance and Recurrence Award: $1 million over three years to address two of the most urgent challenges in lung cancer care: treatment resistance and early detection of recurrence. This award is in partnership with Rising Tide for Clinical Cancer Research.
  • Career Development Award: $300,000 over three years to empower emerging leaders whose work will transform early detection and treatment strategies.
  • Health Equity and Inclusiveness Research Fellow Award: $100,000 over two years to support scientists from underrepresented communities in STEM.
  • VA Research Scholar Award: $100,000 over two years for investigators advancing lung cancer research within the VA system.
  • ASTRO-LUNGevity Seed Grant: $50,000 for radiation oncology residents and fellows exploring innovative approaches.
