The 2026 HOPE Summit Ambassador application is open! This unique opportunity is available to HOPE Summit alumni—lung cancer patients/survivors and caregivers—who are ready to guide, inspire, and support our community before, during, and after the event.

As an Ambassador, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive environment by serving as a personal guide for attendees. This important job requires you to be available prior to HOPE Summit, as well as an active participant during the weekend.

Selection Announcement Date: February 2, 2026

Anyone passionate about the HOPE Summit experience is encouraged to apply. Please be aware that you will be required to be active throughout the weekend. You should be comfortable speaking in public, engaging in small talk, and have the stamina to be available throughout the weekend.

Every application will be anonymous during the review and selection process.  A committee will review each application to ensure the selection process is fair and unbiased.

Ambassador Expectations & Responsibilities 

Before HOPE Summit

  • Answer questions from potential attendees by email prior to arrival
  • Engage in virtual survivor meetups and the private Facebook group leading up to HOPE Summit
  • Use What’sApp Chat group with all ambassadors and LUNGevity staff
  • Help promote the event by:
    • Recording a 60-90 second video about why you’re excited to attend HOPE Summit as an ambassador
    • Participate in a Facebook Live event to share your previous experiences at HOPE Summit 

During HOPE Summit

  • Attend an ambassador kick-off meeting on Friday, May 1, at 8:00 AM
  • Welcome attendees during check-in on Friday, May 1
  • Ensure no one is isolated during meals and group time unless it’s their preference
  • Visit with attendees throughout the event  
  • Answer questions regarding previous sessions and encourage session attendance
  • Direct attendees to staff as needed and notify staff of attendees in need
  • Share social media highlights of your favorite moments each day

After HOPE Summit

  • Provide your personal experience feedback to LUNGevity after the event
  • Participate in focus groups to help plan the next HOPE Summit
  • Record a 60–90 second video reflecting on your experience
