Workforce Diversity in Thoracic Oncology

Also discussed were programs and initiatives to increase workforce diversity at training stages, why they are needed, and how they will increase survival in the long term.

Allan Pickens, MD, is at Emory University and Emory Healthcare. He is Professor of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Department of Surgery; Program Director, Traditional Three-Year CT Surgery Residency, Integrated Six-Year CT Surgery Residency; Director, Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery; and Director, Thoracic Oncology.

David Cooke, MD, is at UC Davis Health. He is Professor and Founding Chief, Division of General Thoracic Surgery; Vice Chair for Faculty Development & Wellness; Director, General Thoracic Surgery Robotics Program; Program Director, Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship and Task Force Chair, Comprehensive Lung Cancer Screening Program.
